thank you

Most importantly today, I want to give you all a big huge thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your words of encouragement, your support, your care, your stories, your positive spirit have brought me into a better place this week. I always find myself very emotionally drained when good old Flo is about to show her ugly mug around these parts.  I am anticipating the disappointment (those of you who are trying or have tried before know what I mean- its torture).

Your words are encouraging, your strength is inspiring, and your prayers are appreciated more than you know. Its amazing how much hope you can pull from people's kind words. So, thank you. Thank you so much.

I don't like to play the Negative Nancy card,  but some days are certainly harder than others. My life is not perfect (obviously) and my wit decides to take a vacation day every now and again. But that's what I find to be the most intriguing... those people that can share both sides of them. The good, the bad, and the down right FUNKY.

*****

On a compeltely unrelated note, I went to the optometrist yesterday and had my eyes poked, prodded, pressurized, dilated, smacked around, and otherwise shown who's boss. And that apparently ain't me. I forgot how much I hated going to the eye doctor - easy to do when you wait *cough* 5 years in between appointments.

That's a mighty big pupil you have there... (thats what she said)

I was told I couldn't put my contacts back in for 12 hours and the dilation would probably last well into the night. The drive home was... interesting. Lets just put it that way. But alas I'm safe and sound. And in one week, I'll be rockin the hottest last season black Guess specs you have evah seen. Cause that's how I roll... cheap.

Word.

Hope your day is going better! Hang in there :-) I work at an Eye Clinic and I hope you had a pair of sunglasses on your way home! Ouch :-S When we had our last exams, my husband and I were staring at each other ALL night long, doesn't it looks so funky when your eyes are dialated?? Can't wait to see those ka-ute Guess glasses!

The worst is when they puff that air into your eye, and you aren't allowed to flinch!

I heart you, your big, dilated pupils, and your last season Guess specs!!

And anything you rock will soooo be next season...you are just ahead of the game like that:)

Oh, and here's something else funny-- we have patients who have to schedule around job interviews because they don't want to look all hyped up on drugs while interviewing for a job! Definitely NOT a winning look. Ha! :-)

I hate having my eyes dilated! I have to get that done soon & I always dread it.

I read your previous post & I can't imagine how painful that is. I don't know if it is helpful or not, but you have another person out here thinking about you & sending you prayers.

Boo to Aunt Flo in ALL aspects!

And I am sure your Guess glasses are super cute. =)

We roll cheap around here too. Must be a sussex county thing!

Glad you're coming out of the funk. It happens to all of us from time to time, regardless of what is going on (or not going on) in our lives. Just know we all love ya and we're hear to listen.

Oh, yeah *raises hand*...me too! I'm guilty too. Haven't been to the eye dr in a couple years! We're bad...yes we are!

Glad to hear your spirits are even slightly improved. It's good to hear that in your "voice"....as we both know our "voice" comes through when we write about personal experiences.

What we need to do is....loan you the world's worst kid (i'm sure there's one somewhere)....one that will cry and scream and kick you in the shins while saying "you're a big stupid head and i hate you"...it will be just enough to push you to the point where for ONE SECOND there will be a crack in your undying love for children...because THAT m'friend is when you'll find yourself about to have one!

I'll start the search....see if i can't find America's WORST CHILD...and I'll UPS the little darling to you straight away. Ok? ;)

Ick! I loathe the eye doctor, but we have this disease that runs in my family that causes blindeness...so I force myself to go every two years.

The worst is those drops they put in before the dilation drops. They're supposed to help with the burning my ass...then why are my eyeballs on fire you whore.

At least at the end of the oh so pleasant expereience they give you those super awesome makeshift sunglasses that rival my grandma's Blue Blockers. Fantastic.

Sometimes it's just nice to know that I am not the only one out there that feels that same way- I am sorry that it has to be you going through it with so many of us- but never give up on that happy ending, it will come and when it does you will appreciate it more because of what you've went through (at least this is what every one tells me) ;) Have a great day!

I really enjoyed your post the other day - sometimes its so refreshing to read something so honest as your thoughts. Its not always butterflies and flowers here in blogland and I love how real and open you were. I am so totally not in baby land in my life - but I have compassion for those who are trying to be and I wish you only the best - especially the normally {terrifying} feeling of being a few days late - I hope you get that!!

much hope and crossing of my fingers for you!

Glad you've got a smile on your dial - oh and by the looks of those eyes, you've had some chemical help? haha

While it seems I lack the mother gene, many of my friends are in your position. Mulitple miscarriages, eptopic pregnancies, one just had an ovarian syst the size of a mandarin and had to have it removed, a girlfriend with severe endo and another who had a hysterectomy at 16 (and is on the overseas adoption list - in Australia the waiting list is 8 years).

Stick with it kid! It's gonna happen! I can feel it in me waters (ummm nanna just came and took over my mouth)... The best things come to those who wait - makes it soo much sweeter when it comes!

Oh and PS.... you rock!

Taco, so glad you're feeling better :)
Aunt Flo came around these parts over the weekend and lil stinker won't leave for a few more days. It's true.
Negative Nancy! Even when you're down your uber cute. Um, except Nancy to me is like "Kitty" to you...blame S and his Jamaican heritage. So he says...
Next year I'm reminding you to go see the Opto!

You are welcome, always here! XOXO and oh I hate the eye doctor, so annoying and they always remind me how very blind I am!
