My best Valentines day surprise was when I was in college. I was having a particularly hard week and when I came home my mom gave me a little heart covered bag filled with my favorite candies and a mardi-gras necklace made of X, O and heart beads. It was really sweet and reminded me of why she's the best! We then spent the night eating chinese food and watching a comedy movie!

I don't think I've ever had a good VDay surprise, but Hubs and I went to a beautiful hotel in Annapolis last year. It was gorgeous and fancy-shmancy. We roamed the town and did a little shopping, "relaxed" in our room, and then had a really fancy dinner in the hotel restaurant. Best Valentine's Day ever!

Ehh.... can I get back to you on the Valentines Day Surprise??

Chris hasn't really surprised me with anything for Valentines Day. We just do the basic dinner and a gift!

My ex-husband did... but I don't want to bring up that past! Bad ju-ju's!

Jenn's Best Valentines Day Surprise:

Well, my boyfriend at the time made reservations at PF Changs, which wasn't really a surprise, but we had been dating for a few months. Nobody knew about it because we worked together and it was just one of those "nobody needs to know" type of situations. Anysneaking, we're at dinner. Two of us, in a big cozy booth. We're done eating and we're getting all close and lovey dovey when all of a sudden this guy appears in front of our booth with a girl. "Jenn, Boyfriend? What's up?". Oh ballz. We're busted. Uh, no Cameron, you did NOT just see Boyfriend with his lips on my ear. Nope. Didn't happen. Cameron was a co-worker. We thought for sure our secret wasn't safe anymore. So, our surprise was being surprised by someone who wasn't supposed to know we were together. SURPRISE!!!

Lame. I know.

My best Valentine's surprise was coming home to a clean house last year. My then Boyfriend/now Hubby spent the whole day cleaning; which with 2 Boxers, 2 cats, a man in the Army, and a yard that floods everytime someone pours a cup of water on it was a lot of work. I didn't even notice the candles, flowers, or dinner because I was so caught up with the fact that he cleaned!

my now hubby woke me up our first Valentine's Day by sneaking into my apartment and cooking me breakfast! He had a tanning bed package and some lotion (what I wanted!) that he had brought over as my gift, but the breakfast before class part was the best!

aww I'm so IN ...I am obsessed with birds.

I'm not sure I can name one suprise--my hubby and I have been together for over 9 years and so there have been lots of v-day's (sad I can't remember much!). I'm gonna go with the tiffany style heart necklace I got when we were like 16 years old. It was cute.

Best Valentines Surprise? My college bf surprised me with a weekend away in a nearby town. It felt like a really romantic trip because we weren't in our apartment yet it didn't cost him much. Oh young love.... :)

YOu get a big pat on the back...or big hug for taking charge here on the happy train Mrs Klaw! People have been down today in bloggy world, and I won't say I have been any better. I was a big bag of blues today too. shame on me.
So, hmm...I would have to say my best surprise was from an ex bf...sigh...BUT I am trying to focus om my husband's positives now...so I guess our first VDay together, he was in NZ and I was working in Boston. A BIG bunch of White Lillies were delivered to my office. THis was amazing because A. NZ does not go all out like us Americans on Vday and B. I was in pure shock now hubby figured out how to order flowers ON-LINE from the other side of the world. And most American websites do NOT take international credit cards, so he really had to do some work to buy these! And he totally got ripped off on all the charges! BUT, IT Made MOI Happy!

I don't really do Valentines Day. I was single for soooooooo many years and kind of anti-VDay that even now I kind of scoff at it. Isn't my hubby a lucky guy?!?

My best VDay was probably the "gay" date I went on with my best friend. We went to dinner and were surround by ooey, gooey love stuff, but we still had a great time! (think Carrie and Miranda's date in SATC movie minus the big blow up fight)

I've only ever had one valentine so I will opt to tell you my worst valentines day story:

In 5th grade I had a HUGE crush on this one boy. Said boy had red hair and he's the only red head I have ever, ever liked. This boy asked me to be his valentine and I about keeled over with excitement and said yes all cool and calm (because I thought I was the shizz in 5th grade). Anyways, we rode the bus together to school and when valentines day rolled around I stepped onto the bus only to see that he had given a kiss kiss bear to my enemy!!! So not cool. My first heart break ever. I hated her forever.

Let's hope this valentines day will be much better.

Biggest Vday surprise? That's easy...last year when Kristian proposed. I don't think anything could have surprised me more. Despite the fact we had been talking about getting engaged I truly didn't think he would do it that night. Actually he didn't think he would do it that night either. haha.

best vday?? the first vday that The Boyfriend and i shared was at a dive bar. we'd been dating only a few weeks, and i wasn't sure yet what was going to come of it, but a huge smile and kiss at the bar sealed that deal :) this will be our 3rd vday, and we are staying in, avoiding restaurants and lines and call-ahead seating and just being together :) and i can't think of a better way to spend the night.

oh yeah, we're having chocolate fondue. NOW its perfect :)

Ok
1) I'm a follower- holla!

2) My best Valentine's surprise for my hubby last year, our 1st Valentine's being married:-)

I took him on a huge scavenger hunt, with poems for each stop around Seattle . . . the spot of our first date, first kiss, where he proposed, my old apartment where I used to make him get out of the car to give me a hug, etc. He had to guess and drive to each one, it was soooo fun!

Padgett Hoke said...

My valentines have always been pretty generic, but maybe this year I will have a really wonderful one? Last year the bf tried to take me to these hot springs via a snowmobile - we made it about 5 minutes in before the snowmobile died, we walked back to the truck, got some help getting the snowmobile back and drove home... so not so much a success (except that I was with the cute boy the whole time so I guess thats a success!)

anyway, I am of course a follower, I will tweet about this because those earrings are just the cutest, I love, and more importantly, I want!

My fingers are crossed!

HEYYYY KRISTEN!!! love your love
MY BEST VALETINESDAY DAY SURPRISE. was actually last year in 2009. I had just started my boyfriend for a month when he asked what I wanted to do on valentines day and I responded nothing big. He told me to take off all weekend from work for a fun weekend. He picked me up valentines day morning and he had a whole trip planned to baltimore. We got to the hotel with a bubble bath. Dinner was over looking the harbor and when we got seated at our table i had a dozen roses waiting for me with the sweetest note. I texted my mom that night saying "no one has ever done this for me before. I can't believe how nice he is to me!!"
:) :)
and still spoils me since <33

Best Valentines Present? Well its nothing that was given to me... Boyfriend and I lived 2 hours away and we were not going to get to spend it together, which was really sad because it would of been our first and it marked the 6 month period... so it meant a lot... well to make the story short... he ended up showing up... dressed up, with roses... it was soooo cute.

Rasha said...

hmm, one time in high school my boyfriend and i broke up 2 days before v-day. it sucked. my family was going out to dinner with a group of other families to some mexican food restaurant on valentine's day for dinner. since i obvi didn't have any plans, i tagged along and ended up having to sit at the "kid's" table. just as i was crying in my refried beans, a good guy friend walks in the restaurant wearing a 1960s red velvet suit, a rose in his mouth, and playing my favorite song on his guitar. he and i were best friends growing up and i guess he had heard from my mom the bad news and came to make my day!! :)

My best Valentine's Day Surprise: I have to say it was the year that my boyfriend made me a card for the first time. We usually make dinner and hang at home, or have a nice meal on the town. Usually the gift is something made and from the heart. I cherish this card he made because it was romantic but realistic. (Comments like - I love when you get up and let the dog out so I can sleep in a few more minutes, it shows you care about my well being) those types of things - as well as true mooshy stuff :)

Happy Early Valentine's Day!
