Choo Choo I'm TWO!

Did you think I forgot to recap the single most important 2nd birthday on the planet?

I would never intentionally disappoint my dollfaces. Or my Smurfdizzle. After all, I did go through all the trouble to lay on a table and let someone else pull him out of me without breaking a sweat. I did sneak a sip of Husband's Pepsi about 10 minutes post being stitched up and was reprimanded like I  was a 4 year old drawing on the wall with dildo or something. My God, I had no idea it would cause that much panic.

But alas. I survived. Smith actually is still alive, despite the clear warnings about 48 hours into our first days home when I realized I had NO IDEA what I was doing. How the hell do you make this thing stop crying? Oh HELLS to the NO when mustard poop starts dripping out onto my freshly cleaned $60 sweats from Victoria's Secret. I now shop at Target. Or even Walmart. High quality duds? Guess that's reserved for mommies with a Black Amex and / or  Husband that works 80 hours a week to support their wives designer taste. That shit doesn't fly in our house. Kent has underwear from 2009 and I proudly rock my 1999 Bid Day teeshirt. Whatevs.

Anyway, digressing as usual.

Smith's birthday was fantastic. The kid didn't stop smiling for the entire 3 hours of the party. And despite the fact that this mama didn't DIY and Pinterest the hell out of it, it still turned out great. And, dare I say even better because I didn't spend my time focusing on all the nitty gritty details. Instead, I was able to ENJOY. And... wait for it... PLAY with my son for 3 solid hours. I'm certainly not knocking the kick ass mommies that do plan. Honey boo boo child, I WISH I could have had the time to plan. But between searching for a new home, moving, putting our kitty to rest, a trip to Ohio, and a trip to Trinidad for the 3 weeks leading up to the event, it just wasn't in the cards. But Smith could have cared less. And that, my dolls, is priceless.

Now, onto the pictures!

Happy Birthday Smurfdizzle. We love you and are so grateful to be your parents.

Everything is TOO CUTE, the cake is especially awesome! And your second paragraph up top - about going from $60 sweats to Target/WalMart...that entire paragraph describes my life...and we both work full time! My sorority shirts are still staples in my wardrobe! :)

It looks like he had a blast and you're right that's all that matters! Great job!

On a side note- when I was in labor I would have axe murdered for a sip of Diet Coke or hell even some water would have been nice. I got neither. Once I got to my recovery room after being sliced open I FINALLY got the diet coke I had been dreaming about all day, which I proceeded to puke up thanks to the anesthesia wearing off. Talk about disappointing.

Dude you had an actual train?! That blows any Pinterest DIY crap right outta the water!! Looks like a fantastic time!

Side note: I guess the one pro to pushing him out the old fashioned way was I got to chow down on whatever I wanted while they sewed my lady bits back together. I'm pretty sure I was yelling at someone midpush to order me some damn food before the cafeteria closed because I was freakin' starving. Priorities people. Priorities.

It looks like a wonderful party regardless of how little planning you did or didn't do and that is all that really matters! Way to go, Mama!!!!

How fun! He certainly looks like he enjoyed himself immensely. But how could he not with cupcakes and a train ride? I'd be peeing in my pants over that for my birthday. Which is in 3 days. :)

How'd you get that awesome train? The pics are perfect. And I agree about the nitty gritty details. I've made a few things for G's party and am already over it. Simple is better!

Ah, Pinterest; it's tag line really should be "How to make you feel shitty about yourself for not making a zillion tissue pom-pons for the cake table". Glad you could free yourself from that. When older son turned 3, we did exactly what he wanted all day eat McDonalds and watch Toy Story 3, like 8 times) and he had a ball. We just had another baby the week before and I had some wicked guilt not doing a big party for him. But we played all day and it.was.awesome.
