Just a quick update on some of the happenings around here.
- Thank you so much for all of your prayers for my Father In Law. The PET scan determined that the cancer is Stage 3A Adenocarcinoma of the Lung. Cancer has been found in the lung and the lymph nodes around it. While its inoperable due to the location, they have him on a very aggressive treatment plan, varying chemotherapy and radiation. We are staying positive. Sending good vibes. And plan to teach Ger how to download his very own FoxNews app for his iPad as soon as we can. He'll need some (bullshit) to keep his mind busy during treatments I suppose. Besides, Mitt Romney would miss him. Cancer is such an asshole. Especially lung cancer. And even more so when the person hasn't smoked. Like, ever.
- Kent's car landed in the shop this week with a burst power steering hose and a few other malfunctions. And a whopping $891 bill followed immediately. Awesome.
- Hurricane Issac is headed this way on Sunday. Because we need that on top of everything else, right?
- My son is still very addicted to vacuums. In fact, it has reached epic proportions and the tantrums that have resulted of removal of said cleaning apparatuses are mind blowing. Instead of rewards in the form of candy or promises of trips to the zoo, we just have to promise Smith a visit to our local Target's vacuum section and all is right in the world. What a weird kid.
- Maybe I'll get around to actually posting pictures of our new house. Maybe. I mean, don't count on it. But if I can manage to remove my permadrip of wine, I'll try to show you a little something. That is, if our new house is still standing after Hurricane Issac has his way with us. What an asshole.

I would love to see your new home. Hope Hurricane Issac doesn't do any damage.
Totally agree with you--Cancer Sucks! The just found a spot on my mom's lungs this week and she goes to a specialist Monday so please keep her in your prayers.
I LOVE that Smith loves vaccuums! Paxton is now obsessed with piggy banks and has slept with it a few times. We've had to hide them.
I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL's diagnosis. I used to work in Breast Cancer and it's such a miserable disease. Here's hoping that treatment works well and there is a swift recovery.
WTF is up with boys and vacuums? My nephew is obsessed and always runs around with my sister's Miele...it's so bizarre but totally funny to watch :)
Cancer sucks. We've had cancer in my immediate family three times in five years, two of which were lung cancer.
You do know that you can buy Smith a kid's vacuum, right? We bought one for my cousin when he was little.
I agree, cancer sucks. We have a friend who just turned 26 (yes, twenty-six) fighting stage 4 testicular cancer that spread to his lungs, brain, etc. Always hurts to see families have to fight something like this, especially when they do everything right in the world and its the assholes of the earth who live to be 105. Not fair.
I swear bad news comes in a freaking army lately. I am sending positive thoughts and lots of hugs your way, sister! Fingers crossed Issac doesn't strengthen, that asshole.
I am so very sorry about your FIL. Prayers for your family.
What is with the vacuums? Did he just wake up one day and love them? So random! He is Soo stinkin adorable!
Vacuums? That is hilarious...and not to mention I never remember how to spell it.
Sending lots and lots of good thoughts! Hang in there!
Trent hates the vacuum. We use it as punishment. "Oh, you think it was funny to pour this on the floor. Well, buddy, I have to get out the vacuum to clean up your mess. How do you like that?" But take that kid to Home Depot to ride on lawn mowers and carry blowers? Now that's a party!
That boy and his love of vacuums, never gets old!
Yuck...Sounds like the $#!^ hit the fan at your house and is still falling from the fan blades. That sucks. :( Thinking about you guys (even if I don't know you from Eve) and hoping everything calms down soon.
And the fact that your kid likes vacuums? Now that's great. Send him to my house and he can play with the stupid vacuum all day long. As long as he moves from one room to the next with it running, I don't care a bit! :)
I wish I had the power to snap my fingers and make everything perfect for you. I don't. I have one suggestion for your FIL. And I'm not a Dr... and this is NOT a cure by any means obviously. But, a really disgusting fresh juice filled with garlic, ginger, kale, parsley, beets and carrots could alleviate some pain and inflammation. Sounds stupid and pretentious but it helps. Let me know if you wanna chat. :o)
